halloween

I know it was ages ago, but we put up a backdrop and took "real pictures" with Aunt Dianna's real camera and I don't have them yet, so we will have to make do with the phone pics.

I did not plan a costume for Nelson because he is not a dresser upper, so for truck or treat we attempted tiger stripes which promptly got smeared!

Diana and Emily claimed  Ana and Elsa as soon as the pattern came home. These were both fun to build and I think the girls looked GREAT!

Olivia was in the Aurora dress this year and got AMAZING face painting done.

For actual Halloween, Nelson wore his spider man shirt and had a web on his face (eyeliner doesn't smear as easily as face paint!)

Back in the summer Emily asked to be a Japanese empress and she was lovey (although I could not talk her into an obi belt)!

Elsa again, with less dramatic make-up (I'm usually only good for one pass at the full make up).

Isaac went back and forth for weeks on a Halloween costumes. Thankfully, when he finally decided it was Ronald Weasly - easy shmeesy!)

All Sarah wanted for Halloween was pink hair???!!? So, she was a pink butterfly princess. Whatever!

Ana again.

The whole crowd with our Halloween table. Sadly, we didn't have a ton of trick or treaters but the ones that came were having a fun night and my bunch had a blast!

sarah is five!

Sarah is FIVE, hence we ate well! Crepes and nutella for breakfast, lasagna for dinner, oreo cupcakes for dessert. All to celebrate a fantastic five year old!

For some reason she got an insane amount of presents: roller skates, an umbrella, markers, paints, books, clothes, a movie (you get the picture). She loved it all.

Some fun facts about the current Sarah: She can tell time better than many of her older siblings. She learning how to read and write. She loves pre-school and primary. Sarah has an infectious giggle, beautiful dimples and hair that is always messy but not for lack of trying. She is a very good helper and likes to help most of the time. She is persistent, opinionated and a wee bit stubborn. She loves Aunt Mel, cousin Sage, swimming, and good food (not pancakes). Sarah thinks she is afraid to be alone in her room and gives great hugs. Huzzah for Sarah!

some october

We had a nice October: Halloween, some birthdays and stuff. I'll do Sarah's b-day and Halloween another day, so here is the stuff.

We visited the Phoenix Tempe and I LOVED it! Hooray for temples!

The day after the trunk or treat we had our primary sacrament meeting program. Despite sugar syrup instead of  blood the kids did a beautiful job and it was a lovely Sunday.

We carved pumpkins. Nelson requested pointy teeth.

Nelson, Sarah and I visited "the farm" for pre-school and had swell time.

Nelson bounced and bounced and bounced and then had a stellar nap!

Nora is the only one of the girls who will even attempt to do her own hair. Here is her first ever french braid with some coaching! She is on her way!!

Speaking of hair, mine is growing and sometimes I even curl it.
