camera
The cord is still lost, but Ryan found another cord - go figure (on the same day the new camera arrived, so now we have one fully functioning and one semi-functioning camera - spoiled). Here are a few images from the download.
Sarah did not take naps during Spring break and by day 3 she was sooooo tired (I did offer naps, but she would have none of it when sissies were home). Here she is falling asleep at dinner.
We spent a morning at cousin Marie's house and had a jolly time.
Nora's birthday was WONDERFUL! She loved it! I had to laugh at this one though. Nora has two really good friends who happen to be boys - one insisted on getting her a present and the other insisted on calling to wish her a happy birthday. Ryan didn't know whether to laugh or get worried that she's already garnering male attention! HA!!

july 2005
While we wait for the camera cord to magically appear or for the new camera to arrive, I'm going to post random pictures from out archive.
Behold, Diana age 2 and Emmy age 1, bathing beauties our first Summer back in AZ.

As for the present we are all doing well here. We have 9 more weeks of school before SUUMMMMMMMMER! I am feeling better, off and on. I chew gum constantly to keep the nausea down, even though I remembered just this morning at the bus stop that there is something in gum and mints that pregnant women shouldn't have (Aunt Di told me - I'm ignoring it, I must function).
Poor Isaac had a hard Sunday. Church was OK, but afterward he did not want to eat his dinner (tuna casserole), so he was not only nap deprived, but hungry and didn't get ice cream. I finally put him to bed at 6:30 so he would sleep it off (he did).
Diana has an evaluation at the orthodontist tomorrow - it has begun - dumdumdummmmm! Her mouth is super crowded and her grown up teeth don't have room to come in and are wearing down funny already - poor kid, glasses and braces - sigh.
That's about all that's going on hereabouts.

is 34 old?
I'm 34 today and somehow that seems a lot older than 33 - oh well, I do feel that I have done quite a bit, I have a degree, served a mission, taught school, have 5.3 kids, you know, good 34 year old stuff. Here is a year by year since we have had digital photos.
2002 -25 years old - a great year, need I say more?
2003 - 26 years old - Diana joins life - she is a VERY good baby. I retire from teaching, we move to Massachusetts for Ryan's grad school. Right after this picture was taken Diana stopped breathing - scary! I pushed the nurse button, calmly said, "My baby is NOT breathing", she came right in, and said, "That baby is not breathing." DUH! They whisked her away and got her going again. My mom rushed after and I sat there in my bed in a weird surreal stupor - strange!).
2004 - 27 - Emmy is born in Texas while we are on an internship with Dell (no drama). 3 weeks later we get to go to Donny and Amanda's wedding, starting a fun tradition of a wedding right after babies. I have Postpartum depression (not because of the wedding - life was just a little too much for a while). We go back to Massachussets.
2005- 28 years old - Ryan graduates, we move back to AZ, spend Christmas in New York with the Boren clan.
2006 - 29 years old - Nora comes (see previous post), Ryan is surrounded by beauty.
2007 - 30 years old - Holding the course until Isaac joins us in November - being pregnant in the 30s is much harder!
2008 - 31 years old, not pregnant all year - wow!
2009 - Pregnant with Sarah - worst yet - I was very sick when this picture was taken. Kids growing, cute, cute, cute. Sarah born in October - 2 days before her due date - good girl!
2010 - 33 years old - We go on a FANTASTIC trip for Ryan's sabbatical.
2011 - 34 years old - Camera breaks, fix camera, can't find cord, so no photos exist. Pregnant with #6 (probably last).
We don't have any huge plans for the day. Isaac is sick again (he was throwing up 2 nights ago), and Ryan and I have a class tonight. Ryan and I are sharing a great gift this year (his b-day is in 2 weeks) we have ordered a waterproof, shockproof small camera - yipeeeeee!

happy birthday sunshine!
Our Nora is FIVE today! Hip Hooray! I've never had a kid so worked up about her birthday - waiting and waiting! Enjoy a tour or Nora through the years.
A lovely (and big) 1 day old. Nora was my biggest baby, weighing in at 9 lb 4 oz - consequently, she was calm, happy and sweet from the get go.
1 year old, not a lot of hair, cheerful, loved having Aunt Di live with us.
2- full of spunk, curls emerging, as well as her silly smile.
3 - big, big, big!
4- the longest year of her life, but great none the less.
5 and very grown up - no baby fat left, still very sweet and full of Sunshine!
3 - big, big, big!

fixed camera, lost cord
I'm pathetic. I figured out what was wrong with the camera and started taking pictures again and now I cannot find the cord - argggg this wretched mortality!
OK, mortality is not that bad, but I do wish I could find what I need when I need it (usually I can, but not the camera cord).
We did have a very nice Spring Break, the kids were ready tog et on the bus this morning. I'll share pictures as soon as I can.

japan
We have had a few inquiries about Ryan and Japan. He was not there for the earthquake, thankfully, but he is very familiar with the area most affected - Sendai was his mission and the sad images are a little more personal to him. So far all the missionaries are safe and accounted for - members, we don't know. Ryan's work colleagues and suppliers all seem to be OK as well. It looks like it will be a long haul for the beautiful people and land of Japan.
I think perhaps one of the reasons the Lord send us all over the world as missionaries is so that when tragedies like this happen on the other side of the world we are still closely connected through those like Ryan who served there.

growing
Do you think we can fit one more in this picture?
We'll see in October!!!!! YIPEEEEE!
Some commonly asked questions:
Q: Is this the last?
A: Probably
Q: Are you moving?
A: Not now.
Q: You have a 7 seat van, what's the plan?
A: Mom will drive the van with the kids since Dad is rarely with us in the car. For trips to California and Idaho, mom and baby will fly (mom likes this plan) until the spreadsheet of life is ready for a new car.
Q: Planned or surprise?
A: Definitely planned - eek!
Q: How are you feeling?
A: Rotten, thanks:).
Q: How far along?
A: 9 weeks.
Q: How far apart will baby and Sarah be?
A: 20 days shy of 2 years
Q: Are you just having another in hopes of a boy?
A: Nope, but I will admit it would make bedrooms work out a lot better, but I learned a long time ago that it's not my choice.
Q: How old will everyone be when baby arrives?
A: Ryan 37, Marian 34, Diana 8, Emily 7, Nora 5, Isaac 3 and 11 months, Sarah 1 and 345 days.
Q: Excited?
A: Super DUPER excited!
That's the news here.

bookcases
OK, I'm not trying to turn into design mom, but I have had some questions about the color sorted bookcases. Yes, it's on purpose. I did it in a fit of organizing and actually really like it because it's easy for the kids to put the books away and even if it's not perfect and neat it still looks put together. So, if you have a lot of kids books, I can heartily recommend color sorting.
I also sorted the books in my bedroom by color and I just like the order it brings to my sanctuary that is increasingly multi purpose.
